Stories from the Buddha’s Life (Celebrating Wesak) - May 8th 2020

If we truly want to bring our practice to life, we must learn that everything is practice, without exceptions. Each moment offers the potential to wake up. Nothing is left out. This includes the dirty dishes in the sink, the argument with a neighbor about social distancing, and the enraging news. In these times, how can our practice infuse every aspect of our being and support us in moving our energy into an appropriate response? Our meditation can be a place of settling the mind and finding peace. Yet, that's just the warm up! How we take this into daily life, for the little stuff and the big stuff, is the whole point.

For tonight's evening talk and discussion we will explore how this unfolds in practical ways and in so doing how we might live life fully, at time of understandable weariness, fear and anger.

We dedicated this talk to celebrating Black Life, in honor of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery. We suggested you direct any generosity inspired by this talk to a local organization that supports Black Life. We chose Parenting For Liberation, inspired by this article.
